Jeptha Abbott Chapter,

Daughters of the American Revolution

Ardmore, Pennsylvania

   Welcome to our Website !

Jeptha Abbott is the largest DAR chapter in Pennsylvania with over 200 members. We are comprised of a variety of ages from our junior members to the young at heart. Our members are involved in various professions from college students, doctors, professors, professional mothers, to retirees. This makes our chapter a very interesting and fun group of ladies.

Our chapter holds monthly programs on a wide variety of subjects that promote education, history, patriotism, music, and culture, to name a few. There is something for everyone to enjoy and learn.

We are a service organization. We hold an annual Christmas Ball and a Spring Fashion Show which help us achieve our Chapter projects, as well as support National organizations in need. These events are always popular and well attended by members and guests.

We always welcome you to visit us at our meetings or events. Please join us and become acquainted with the caring and devoted women who carry on the valuable work of our long-enduring chapter.

Sincerely,
Rebecca S. O’Neill

NSDAR Objectives:
  • Historic: "To perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence."
  • Educational: to carry out the injunction of Washington in his farewell address to the American people, "to promote, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge, thus developing an enlightened public opinion…"
  • Patriotic: "To cherish, maintain, and extend the institutions of American freedom; to foster true patriotism and love of country."
The American's Creed

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.
